Our major assets

L’École des Roches offers complete immersion in French with intensive courses, personalised support in small groups and preparation for the DELF exam. Located in Normandy, it offers an international setting, cultural outings and a wide range of enriching activities.

Educational programme

This programme is aimed at young non-French speakers who want to acquire a good command of written and spoken French and discover French culture. The intensive courses, in groups of varying levels, enable rapid progress and encourage immersion in the classes and the school, providing a rich and unique experience in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Academic monitoring

The programme director meets weekly with the teaching team to assess each student’s progress. The head teacher and head of house send a weekly report to parents.

Evaluation

Learning is regularly assessed in all skills, and results are recorded in a mid-term report card and a termly report card, which is followed by a discussion with the student to set objectives.

DELF diploma

FLE students are encouraged to take the DELF exam, with three mock exams before the final exam and a pass rate of 100% by 2024.

Immersion and revalidation

The school offers two options for students wishing to continue and complete their education in France: immersion in the French national curriculum or the International Baccalaureate curriculum. For those who wish to continue their studies in their country of origin, the school can issue the necessary documents for revalidation in accordance with the agreements in force in each country.

Cultural outings and trips

The school is ideally located, allowing students to discover the north of France, Paris and the Loire Valley, with two immersive FLE trips.

Typical day

The FLE programme trains students to become autonomous while promoting their personal development. Supervised by Heads of House, who act as “surrogate parents”, they benefit from a caring and secure environment. These adults look after their well-being, their academic success and their daily needs, in liaison with their parents and the school service.
