The spirit of boarding houses
The main campus of École des Roches comprises six boarding houses, where students are divided by age and class. Inspired by traditional English schools, they offer a reassuring environment in which to learn to live in a community.
A wide range of students and adapted formulas
Welcoming students aged 11 to 18 from all over the world, the boarding school offers several flexible options to meet the needs of families:
5-day boarding course
The student goes home every weekend.
Boarding 6 days
The student goes home every other weekend.
7-day boarding (permanent)
Students stay at the boarding school every weekend.
Weekends at the boarding school
Students staying on site at weekends benefit from an adapted programme.
Cultural and entertainment outings
Every fortnight, activities are organised outside the campus, suitable for all ages. Destinations include the Parc des Princes, Disneyland, Parc Astérix, shows and shopping sprees.
Time in town
During the other weekends, the students, supervised by the Heads of House for the younger ones, have free time to discover Verneuil d’Avre et d’Iton or the surrounding area.
Studies and teaching support
Every evening and at weekends, students take part in supervised study sessions in their house. This time is devoted to homework and revision of lessons, with occasional assistance from teachers and the availability of Heads of House for personalised support.
Organisation and environment of the Houses
The six boarding residences, known as “Houses”, accommodate students in single-sex areas, with shared rooms promoting a cultural mix.

Each House is supervised by responsible adults, the Heads of House, who act as ‘surrogate parents’. Their role is to ensure the well-being, safety and academic progress of the pupils, while supporting them in their daily lives. They also act as intermediaries between parents and the school service. Pupils can turn to them with any questions or needs: pocket money, mobile phone, health or any other specific request.
An enriching life experience
Thanks to this organisation, the boarding school offers a structured environment rich in experiences. Students develop valuable social and cultural skills as they live and share their daily lives with peers from all over the world.
