The money is then given to an organisation which offers wheel chairs to handicaped people), our students collect books for schools in Burkina Faso or clothes for other associations. - Linguistic exchanges :
they are essential to stimulate linguistic skills and to lead students towards bilingualism and autonomy. - Fête de la Culture :
A day is devoted to culture so that students have the opportunity to represent their cultural, historical, and gastronomic heritage. Students organise stands and exhibitions to share their national differences with their french counterparts. - « App'Roches » (the students carry out research on a subject that they previously chose and present their findings to their classmates), « Café Philo » (debates on philosophical issues), « Café Eco » (debates on economic issues) and other conferences contribute to create interesting argumentations through the development of philosophical and economic themes. Personalities and specialists usually chair these conferences and give students the chance to learn from their expertise.

teachers may organise pedagogical trips in Greece, Italy, England, Spain, Russia... - National and religious celebrations :
Students from other nationalities have the opportunity to organise celebrations according to their own traditions. Our Chef can even prepare a special menu ! Ecole des Roches is a secular school but our team does insist on respecting all religions : Yom Kippur, Christmas, Orthodoxy, Ramadan... - « Ciné-club » is organised by Cadet Entreprise and makes a thorough selection of the most interesting films. The students have therefore the chance to watch international masterpieces. Afterwards, debates are usually organised.
Cultural enrichmentECOLE DES ROCHES : "a global village" Our school is a global village which works in partnership with UNESCO whose director, Federico Mayor, has defined ECOLE DES ROCHES as being the “elected child” of UNESCO. Ecole des Roches welcomes teenagers from the five continents (40 nationalities – 20 foreign languages). This melting pot is a great opportunity for students to learn from their foreign counterparts (different cultures and religions) and to form friendships that cross borders and far outlast their school years. |
