 In 1899, the Ecole des Roches was one of the first schools which put into relief the duality between intellectual development and physical activities by introducing team-orientated sports in France. It included : Basket ball, Handball, Volleyball and football. British teachers even came to visit us and to share their expertise by teaching generations of our students the intricacies of the authentic British rugby. The first academic swimming pool was inaugurated within our school in 1912. Comte Jean de Beaumont, President of the French Olympic committee, who had previously studied within Ecole des Roches, gave the school the chance to modernise its sports substructures through its patronage. On that account, intense sports practice has always been our motto : 20 sports are available within our campus ! Efforts, team-spirit, competitiveness, endurance, excellence, self-confidence... so many qualities that characterise leaders-to-be !
